On Friday we had visitors from Loddon Mallee Cultural Services (LMCS) come to Golden Square and conduct a Cultural Awareness Day. The kids got to participate in Traditional Philippines dancing, games from around the world, singing and some food tasting. It was a fantastic day, one which the children got a lot out of.
On Tuesday and Wednesday the Grade 3s had their camp at Maldon. It was very wet for the two days but this didn’t stop them getting out and about and having a great time. Some of the kids have written about it.
Well we are into our 3rd day of our Canberra adventure. The trip up seemed to go pretty quick. We stopped in Glenrowan, famous for the Ned Kelly capture. For lunch we stopped in at Holbrook which has the submarine in the park and then our last stop was at Gundagai, famous for the dog on the Tucker Box. We arrived at the caravan park around 4pm
Yesterday we started the day with a drive up Mt Ainsle which gives you fantastic views of Canberra. Next we went to the National Gallery of Australia and then the High Court of Australia. We were lucky enough to see a case in action. We had a quick drive around the embassies and then off to lunch.
After lunch in the park we headed into town for a quick walk around and then we headed to the National Museum. We then returned to the camp for dinner. We ended the day with kick the can in the dark with glow sticks.
So what have you been up to?
I had a fantastic school holidays. I was fortunate enough to go to Singapore to watch the Formula 1 Grand Prix. It was a fantastic event and I had a great time. Then when I got home we went to the Sunshine Coast for a family holiday.

Last night (Thursday 19th September) Golden Square PS had their senior concert. As a teacher it was a very proud moment to watch the children put all their hard work to show. They did a fantastic job. Well done team.
Last week we have a very busy week with excursions to the Safety Awareness Day and then we went to Scienceworks in Melbourne. I was very proud of the way the kids in my class conducted themselves at these excursions.
